Man jailed for setting ex-wife’s house on fire

MADZIWA - A 37‑year‑old man has been jailed after attempting to kill his ex‑wife by setting her bedroom on fire.
Lloyd Jeke was sentenced to seven years in prison by Magistrate Sheila Nazombe, who suspended two years on condition of good behaviour.
Prosecutor Edward Katsvairo told the court that on 3 September 2024, Jeke went to the home of his ex‑wife, Thandi Bondamakara, during the night. He found her asleep, broke a window and set the house ablaze.
Bondamakara managed to escape the fire, while Jeke was arrested the same night.
