The trial date for Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries founder Walter Magaya, who faces rape allegations, has been scheduled for January 26, 2026. The same date has also been set for a related fraud case involving Magaya, his wife Tendai, and organisations Planet Africa and Yadah Connect, in which all parties are co-accused.
The development follows indications from the State, represented by Clemence Chimbari, that the High Court will hear both matters once the formal indictments are finalised. The proceedings were overseen by Magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa, who remanded the accused until the January hearing.
Both cases are expected to attract significant public attention given Magaya's high profile as a religious leader in Zimbabwe.
