Midnight thief breaks door with a pick to steal cellphone

PLUMTREE - A suspected thief has been arrested after allegedly breaking into a house at midnight and stealing a cellphone valued at $100.
Malven Chikomo appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware on Tuesday, where he was granted $50 bail.
Prosecutor Sheila Nyathi told the court that on December 21 last year Chikomo armed himself with a metal pick and went to Netiwe Chingwa's house.
Upon arrival, he found the door locked and broke it open with the pick. He then entered the house and stole a Samsung phone before disappearing.
A police report was filed and investigations led to Chikomo's arrest.
