Chipinge man jailed for assaulting mother over sadza

CHIPINGE - A 20‑year‑old man has been jailed for six months after assaulting his mother during a dispute over sadza.
Kudakwashe Mukwakwami was convicted by Chipinge magistrate Nixon Mangoti on Thursday. Mangoti suspended three months of the sentence on condition of good behaviour, leaving the remaining three months effective.
The
court heard that on November 5 Mukwakwami returned home from a bar
around 8pm. Upon arrival, he threw a pot of sadza outside the house. His
mother, Ringirai Mukwakwami, questioned him about his actions.
Kudakwashe became violent and slapped her twice on the face, causing her to fall and sustain head injuries.
A police report was filed and a medical report was produced in court.
