Brothers kill neighbour in Christmas Day fight

BINDURA – Two brothers from Bindura, Munyaradzi Chipindu (39) and Tamuka Chipindu (42), have been remanded in custody after allegedly fatally assaulting their neighbour on Christmas Day.
The pair appeared before Bindura magistrate Felix Chauromwe on Saturday facing murder charges.
According to the State, led by Sheilla Maribha, the incident occurred on 25 December at Piedmont Farm in Bindura. Tamuka reportedly saw his 14‑year‑old son being assaulted by the now‑deceased, Victor Phiri (21). He confronted Phiri and a fight broke out.
Tamuka was overpowered, prompting his brother Munyaradzi to intervene. Munyaradzi allegedly struck Phiri on the head with an empty bottle, leaving him unconscious.
Good Samaritans later carried Phiri to his home, but he died hours afterwards.
The brothers were remanded in custody pending further investigations.
