Zimbabwean football prospect Michael Mparaganda has completed a move to Dutch giants Feyenoord, marking a major milestone in his young career.
The 17-year-old has signed a contract that will keep him at the Rotterdam-based club until 2028, Feyenoord confirmed. The Eredivisie side announced the signing and quoted the youngster expressing his excitement at the opportunity.
"Amazing, no words for it," said Mparaganda. "It says a lot that Feyenoord gives me their full trust."
Feyenoord are one of the most decorated clubs in Dutch football history. The club has won 16 Dutch league titles and 14 KNVB Cups, in addition to major European honours that include two UEFA Cups, one European Cup, and one Intercontinental Cup.
In the current Eredivisie season, Feyenoord sit second in the league standings, though they trail leaders PSV Eindhoven by 16 points.
The club's first team is coached by former Arsenal and Manchester United forward Robin van Persie, adding further prestige to Mparaganda's move as he begins the next chapter of his development in European football.
