A lecturer at Morgan Zintec College, Happiness Karengo, is reportedly on the run following allegations that he raped a 30-year-old female student at the institution.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred last November. The student claims Karengo called her to his office under the pretext of taking an in-class exam she had missed. Once inside, he allegedly locked the door, expressed romantic interest, and began touching her. After she rejected him, he reportedly produced a condom and allegedly raped her before giving her the test and leaving the room.
The student initially delayed reporting the incident, following advice from her sister to ensure Karengo would not tamper with her course marks. She filed a police report earlier this week. The case has been logged at Braeside Police Station under RRB 6473934.
Lecturers and students at the college have reportedly discussed the matter openly. One student expressed concern over the lecturer's professional conduct, suggesting the possibility of similar abuses going unreported.
The victim has been taken to Edith Clinic for medical examination. Police were unavailable for comment at the time of reporting.
This incident raises serious questions about student safety and professional oversight within the college.
