Diaspora‑based Zimbabwean socialite Susan Mutami has explained why she blocked former Norton legislator and ex‑partner Temba Mliswa, accusing him of being an irresponsible father who has never contributed to the upkeep of their child.

Mutami, writing on her X (formerly Twitter) account, said many people had asked why she cut off communication with Mliswa.

“Most of you have been inboxing me and asking me why I blocked @TembaMliswa. As you all know, since birth that man has never contributed a single cent towards the upkeep of his son, and whenever we talk the conversation always goes left when I ask for his son’s upkeep,” she posted.

She said she and the Australian government had been solely responsible for caring for her son, Tino. Mutami added that her older brother helped her establish a lucrative business for her children.

“Being the hardworking single mum that I am, my older brother… helped me set up a very lucrative business for the kids and they both earn $40,000 a week in profit after paying their employees, taxes, superannuation, long service leave etc. I run the business whilst they are in school,” she said.

Mutami claimed Mliswa had never contributed financially.

“To be honest with you citizens, I never wanted money from him because he doesn’t have it. I just wanted a present father in my son’s life when needed,” she said.

She contrasted Mliswa with another former partner, Isaac Moyo, whom she described as respectful and supportive.

“Moyo treated me well and I have no beef with his family. Isaac Moyo personally thanked me for looking after his nephew because he knows the boy is better off with me,” she wrote.

Mutami said Moyo had been hands‑on when their child was an infant, doing household chores and caring for the baby.

She added that her eldest child had grown up emotionally stable because of receiving “excessive father’s love”.

“@TembaMliswa, zvekuti mari hauna tozviziva, but be a father to your child. Support him on the emotional side of things. As for the school fees, ndobhadhara ma‑elite fees wani. By July this year your son will be a self‑made millionaire in dollars. What more do you want @TembaMliswa? Today alone I paid him another 25k allowance. Uri munhu akaita sei Temba?” she wrote.
