The ruling Zanu-PF has deployed its leadership and grassroots structures across the country to intensify campaigns in support of proposed constitutional amendments that could extend the tenure of Emmerson Mnangagwa and introduce sweeping changes to Zimbabwe's political and governance systems.

Sources within the party say the campaign drive is expected to escalate significantly following recent politburo and central committee meetings, as Zanu-PF seeks to consolidate support ahead of upcoming public consultations by Parliament.

The party is reportedly activating its full organisational machinery - from cells, branches and wards to district, provincial and national structures - to ensure widespread mobilisation and messaging in favour of the proposed changes.

Zanu-PF is also leveraging its Members of Parliament and senior leaders to influence public opinion during the consultation process, which is expected to be conducted nationwide.

Zimbabwe's administrative framework - comprising 10 provinces, 64 districts and nearly 1,970 wards - is central to the party's strategy to reach communities at grassroots level and secure backing across the country.

The proposed constitutional amendments have already sparked political debate, with critics arguing they could reshape the country's democratic framework, while the ruling party maintains they are necessary for governance reforms and continuity.
