Patriotic Vendors4ED in Mashonaland Central has won a major court victory after the Samora Chisvo‑led Vendors4ED leadership attempted to claim organisational property as their own.
The developments were revealed in a statement issued by Patriotic Vendors4ED spokesperson Dumiso Makhalima.
According to Makhalima, the dispute began when vendors across the country resolved to abandon the old name and rebrand as Patriotic Vendors4ED, citing alleged abuse of the empowerment fund under the previous leadership.
"This bold move left the Chisvo‑led executive isolated and a bit desperate. With 98% of Mashonaland Central vendors joining the new affiliate, the former leaders tried to claim the assets - including a burial hearse - for themselves. But the court wasn't having it, ruling that the will of the people must be respected," the statement said.
Mashonaland Central Patriotic Vendors4ED chairperson Lucky Kapya, popularly known as Cde Amakhosi Sigola Tunje, welcomed the ruling.
"The majority has spoken, and we've won the case. All vendors' properties belong to Patriotic Vendors4ED, not to those disconnected individuals. Mashonaland Central vendors are excited about this fair outcome. What's ours is now officially ours. Let's move forward, united, for Zanu PF and the people," he said.
Patriotic Vendors4ED national chairperson Sawu Jere also celebrated the judgment.
"Kudos to the vendors' family for your prayers. We're all ecstatic about this win in Mash Central. The ruling was spot on - the properties belong to the majority. Let's keep lifting Vision 2030 and pushing for Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3. May God bless Patriotic Vendors4ED!" he said.
