CCC MP elected to Global Parliamentarians' executive committee
Hwange Central Member of Parliament Daniel Molokele has been elected to the international Executive Committee of Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA), marking a significant step in his growing profile on the global legislative stage.
His election was confirmed at PGA's annual general meeting held at the conclusion of its 46th annual conference in Mexico City on Friday, March 27, 2026. He will serve a term running from April 1, 2026, to December 2027.
Global legislative network
Founded in 1978 in Washington, D.C. and headquartered in New York, Parliamentarians for Global Action is a multi-party international network of legislators focused on advancing human rights, democracy, the rule of law, peace and security, gender equality, environmental protection, and justice.
The organisation brings together nearly 1,000 active parliamentarians from more than 150 countries, who work to promote legislative reforms at both national and international levels.
Its Executive Committee, composed of parliamentarians from diverse regions and political backgrounds, meets twice a year to provide strategic oversight and guidance to the organisation and its Secretariat.
Expanding international role
Molokele's appointment adds to his increasing involvement in global governance platforms. In December 2025, he was also appointed to the global board of the UNITE Parliamentary Network for Global Health, where he serves as focal point for Southern and Eastern Africa.
UNITE, established in 2017 and headquartered in Lisbon, Portugal, is a non-partisan network of nearly 600 current and former parliamentarians from more than 120 countries, working to strengthen global health systems in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
In his role, Molokele represents legislators from more than 25 African countries across the Southern and Eastern African region, contributing to policy coordination and advocacy on health systems strengthening.
Strengthening Zimbabwe's global parliamentary presence
Molokele's election to the PGA Executive Committee is seen as an expansion of Zimbabwe's representation within international parliamentary networks, reflecting growing engagement by local legislators in global governance, human rights, and development policy forums.
The Executive Committee position is expected to involve strategic input into PGA's global agenda, including its advocacy priorities and programme implementation across member countries.
