TelOne's difficult start to the season continued on Monday after they were held to a goalless draw by ZPC Kariba at Nyamhunga Stadium, leaving the "WiFi Boys" still without a victory in their opening six matches.
The result leaves TelOne with three draws and three defeats so far this campaign, a sharp contrast to last season when they finished inside the top five.
Despite their struggles at home, where they have lost all three matches, Herbert Maruwa's side have shown resilience on the road, remaining unbeaten away from home with three consecutive draws.
Monday's match was largely defined by missed opportunities and a lack of finishing quality from both sides, with neither team able to convert promising build-up play into goals.
ZPC Kariba created early chances through Munashe Kamwendo, while TelOne's Marvelous Chigumira and Nkosiyabo Masilela tested the opposition defence but failed to hit the target with consistency.
The hosts grew stronger after the break, with Kelvin Gwao and Cephas Musikavanhu helping to stabilise their defence, while late attempts from Kudzai Ngwende and Remmington Masuku were also unsuccessful.
TelOne nearly snatched victory in the closing stages, but Tatenda Elton Chikona fired over the bar from a promising position.
TelOne coach Herbert Maruwa said he was encouraged by his team's defensive discipline despite the lack of goals.
"I am happy to keep a clean sheet. It shows we are moving in a positive direction despite the harsh weather conditions," he said.
ZPC Kariba coach Newman Mushipe expressed frustration at his side's inability to capitalise on home advantage, saying they failed to create enough clear chances despite periods of control.
Both teams ultimately settled for a point in a match that highlighted their ongoing struggles in front of goal.
