Three arrested in Bubi for cannabis possession

BUBI – The Zimbabwe Republic Police has confirmed the arrest of three suspects for unlawful possession of dagga following an interception at a police checkpoint in Bubi.
The suspects have been identified as Leslie Kerryn Zinyemba, Jeffery Matata and Shingirirai Mitchel Masocha.
According to police, the trio was travelling in a Nissan Note when they were stopped at a checkpoint on 11 April 2026. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of nine cobs of dagga concealed beneath the front passenger seat.
The suspects were subsequently arrested and are expected to face charges related to the unlawful possession of dangerous drugs.
Police reiterated their commitment to combating drug‑related offences and warned the public against engaging in the possession, trafficking or distribution of illicit substances. Authorities also urged citizens to report drug‑related activities as part of ongoing efforts to curb substance abuse.
