Four arrested over string of house break‑ins in Masvingo

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has arrested four suspects in connection with a series of unlawful entry and theft cases recorded in and around Masvingo between December 2025 and April 2026.

Police identified the suspects as Peace Mandizvidza (32), Edward Sibanda (27), Tapiwa Tagwirei (27) and Kumbulani Sibanda (25).

According to police, the four have so far been linked to 10 cases of unlawful entry and theft, in which property valued at US$14 330 was stolen. Investigations indicate that the suspects targeted residential properties, allegedly breaking into homes while owners were away.

Stolen items included television sets, refrigerators, a deep freezer, blankets and other household goods.

Police confirmed that property worth US$10 305 has since been recovered. Recovered items include two television sets, a deep freezer, blankets and various other goods.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police said investigations are ongoing, with indications that the suspects could be linked to additional cases in the province.

Authorities have urged members of the public to secure their homes and report suspicious activities as police intensify efforts to curb property‑related crimes.
