Two men from Bulawayo have separately appeared before the courts facing serious violent crime charges, including murder and attempted murder, following incidents linked to alleged misunderstandings.
In the first case, Nhlanhla Moyo (48) of Pumula South suburb appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube facing a murder charge.
Moyo was remanded in custody until May 27.
Prosecutor Tafara Dzimbanhete told the court that on March 10, 2026, at house number 21668 in Pumula South, the accused allegedly had a misunderstanding with the now deceased, Tatenda Mashave.
Following the altercation, Moyo allegedly armed himself with a spear and stabbed Mashave once on the left side of the chest in the presence of a witness identified as Ibanathi Moyo.
The court heard that Mashave sustained severe chest injuries and was rushed to Mpilo Central Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
A police report was subsequently filed, leading to Moyo's arrest.
In a separate matter, Michael Mureri (24) of Pumula Old appeared before Western Commonage regional magistrate Pasipanodya Maturure facing a charge of attempted murder.
Mureri was remanded in custody until May 22.
