Chinese Ambassador praises Zimbabwean youth at Chinese Bridge finals

Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding has commended young Zimbabweans who participated in the 2026 Chinese Bridge Competition Finals, describing the event as a celebration of diligence, excellence and global vision.
In remarks shared after the competition, the ambassador said he was inspired by the calibre of participants drawn from across the country.
"Had a fantastic time at the 2026 Chinese Bridge Competition Finals - a celebration of diligence, excellence and global vision," Zhou Ding said.
"Truly inspired by the exceptional young participants from across Zimbabwe. Can't wait to see them apply their talents to drive Zimbabwe's growth, strengthen China-Zimbabwe friendship, and contribute to global peace and prosperity."
Zhou said Zimbabwe's growing role in international affairs would require more young people equipped with global perspectives, language skills and cross‑cultural understanding.
"As Zimbabwe prepares to serve as a non‑permanent member of the UN Security Council (2027-2028) and plays a more important role on the world stage, she needs more talents with global perspective, foreign language proficiency and cross‑cultural understanding," he said.
Encouraging continued learning among the youth, the ambassador concluded his message with the Shona phrase: "Kudzidza hakuperi - never stop learning, dear young friends."
