ZIMBABWE National Army (ZNA) section commanders have been urged to uphold discipline, loyalty and professionalism as they assume greater leadership responsibilities in the country's defence forces.
A total of 126 section commanders graduated on Friday after successfully completing a 20-week Section Commander Tactics Course at the 5.3 Infantry Battalion under 5 Brigade in Kwekwe.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Commander Zimbabwe Engineers Corps Colonel Simbarashe Zhou challenged the newly qualified commanders to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the intensive training programme in the service of the nation.
"Your exposure here has moulded you into 21st-century junior leaders with the physical endurance and professional skills required to operate in the modern battlespace. I urge you to use the knowledge you gained to guide you in the loyal and patriotic discharge of your duties," Zhou said.
He encouraged the graduates to continue strengthening their leadership abilities upon returning to their respective units.
"It is your responsibility to command and lead. Continue sharpening those skills when you return to your units and formations. I want you to continue doing good, as this helps the nation grow. This is commendable from you," he said.
The 126 graduates underwent a rigorous 20-week programme designed to equip them with the tactical, physical and leadership skills required to operate effectively in modern military environments.
The course forms part of the Zimbabwe National Army's ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership capacity and enhance operational readiness within its ranks.
