CAPS United have reportedly parted ways with goalkeeper Wallace Magalane amid allegations of match-fixing, although the club is yet to officially confirm the reasons behind his departure.

Magalane's exit comes just days after a difficult outing against Triangle FC, where he made a costly error that prompted sections of the CAPS United supporters to call for his substitution. The emotional goalkeeper broke down in tears on the pitch and was unable to continue with the match.

While the club has not issued a formal statement explaining the separation, NewZimbabwe.com understands that Magalane is alleged to be under investigation over suspected match-fixing. The allegations have not been independently verified, and neither the player nor the club has publicly commented on the claims.

In response, CAPS United are reportedly close to securing the services of experienced Zimbabwe international goalkeeper Washington Arubi as they seek to strengthen their goalkeeping department.

The 41-year-old is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Green Machine this week following the expiry of his contract with South African Premiership side Marumo Gallants.

Arubi brings a wealth of experience, having enjoyed a distinguished career in both Zimbabwe and South Africa. The former Dynamos goalkeeper has previously played for University of Pretoria, SuperSport United and Marumo Gallants, earning a reputation as one of Zimbabwe's most accomplished shot-stoppers.

The Harare giants are also understood to be pursuing another goalkeeper from Botswana as they look to reinforce competition in the position ahead of the remainder of the season.

CAPS United have yet to officially announce either Magalane's departure or Arubi's anticipated arrival.
