Express Load truck overturns, family survives by whisker

HARARE — A South African‑registered truck belonging to Express Load overturned early Sunday morning after the driver reportedly failed to negotiate a curve while speeding.

The truck, which was carrying an excavator engine, veered off the road before overturning.

The driver, who was travelling with his wife and a child, survived the crash by a whisker. His wife and the child were taken to hospital for treatment, although the extent of their injuries was still unknown at the time of publication.

Efforts to obtain a comment from police were unsuccessful, as officers had not yet arrived at the accident scene by press time.
