Children of war liberators have been urged to register to vote in the forthcoming harmonised election.
An official of the Children of Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association, Godfrey Chibanda, said the children should participate actively in voter registration to enable them to exercise their democratic right to vote in the coming general election.
"It is vital for the war veterans' children to register to vote as this is their only chance to safeguard the independence of the country," he said.
"The gains of the revolution cannot be compromised by a party which was not involved in the emancipation of our nation.
"Let it be known that we, as the surviving children of the heroes of Zimbabwe, will see to it that our fathers are happy by making sure that we garner support for President Mugabe." Chibanda re-affirmed the association's support and loyalty to President Mugabe and Zanu-PF in the forthcoming harmonised election.
The association is expected to be officially launched on June 29 and it is made up of children of war veterans, collaborators, detainees and war victims who took part in the country's war of liberation.
