A LUCKY punter, Mr Aneas Savanhu, was last week smiling all the way to the bank after he scooped the US$125 200 Lotto jackpot.
Mr Savanhu, a pensioner, described his prize as the "real deal" after winning a US$165 consolation prize in April.
"I have been playing Lotto for a number of years now," he said.
"In April this year, I won US$165, which made me feel that my real luck was drawing nearer.
"It was only when I browsed through a copy of The Sunday Mail last week that I realised that my 'quick pick' numbers matched those that had won the jackpot prize.
"I called my son to verify whether what I was seeing was correct or not and the verification turned into wild ululation and jumping. I was the lucky punter."
Mr Savanhu, who farms in Goromonzi, said he would channel part of the windfall towards his farm.
"We are going to decide as a family on how we are going to use some of the money.
"But definitely my farm will not be left out as it is one of the biggest investments that I have now," he said.
This week's jackpot prize is pegged at slightly over US$100 000.
