A DANGAMVURA woman had to seek the protection of the courts last week after her estranged hubby wanted to boot her out of a residential stand they had bought together.
The hubby had turned his back on her and had set his eyes firm on another woman.
Appearing before Mutare magistrate, Mrs Sharon Chipanga, Sinikiwe Matimanga, told the court that her husband, Happison Maramwidza, threatened her with eviction when he realized that she had already constructed three rooms on their residential stand.
"This man left for another woman and he never came back, save for the occasional visits he pays to see his children.
"When I started claiming maintenance from him, he moved out saying the courts should see to my welfare and that of the children.
"When he saw that I had finished building the three rooms on our stand he has incessantly tried to chase me away so that he with his girlfriend enjoy the fruits of my hard work.
"He is in the habit of saying bad things about me to our children whenever he comes to visit them. He is also accusing me of having an extra marital affair, but it is not true. It is just one of his tricks to try and evict me from the residential stand," she said.
When asked to respond, Maramwidza had no kind words for his wife and he insisted that Matimanga was bringing in her boyfriend to their matrimonial home.
Said Maramwidza: "This woman has for a long time now been cheating on me. I recently got a tip-off from my neighbours to the effect that she has a boyfriend.
I went there in the guise of getting a work suit I had left there . . . and when I got there, I caught her with the man.
"When I entered the house they were just sitting, but the man in question was half naked.
"She has no right to do that because we did not even divorce, Your Worship," he said.
Matimanga, however, rubbished the allegations saying Maramwidza was just trying to find justification to evict her from their matrimonial home.
In her ruling, Mrs Chipanga granted the protection order on the grounds that Maramwidza should only visit Matimanga's place on condition that he does not disturb the woman's peace.
