CHITUNGWIZA - A man who battered his two sisters with a leather belt accusing them of being 'loose' will spend effective seven months behind bars for his offence after a Chitungwiza Court found him guilty of assault charges.

Reports are that sometime in May this year, Nelson Mutombeni insulted his sisters Charity and Lorcadia Bhunya accusing them of being prostitutes but they denied the accusations. Mutombeni was reportedly infuriated by his sisters' behavior and removed his leather belt from his trousers before using it to violently batter the trio.

He further took a wooden bench and struck one of his sisters twice on the head. He also reportedly kicked Charity and further assaulted her with the belt.

A police report was made leading to his arrest while the two sisters were referred to hospital for treatment.

For his offence the Court slapped him with 12 months imprisonment before five months were suspended for five years on condition of good behavior.
