A VICTORIA Falls man will rue the day he failed to control his sexual desires and f-ndled his girlfriend's 15-year-old friend while they slept.

Oscar Liwonde (25) started caressing the teenager's breasts before inserting his finger into her private parts while his girlfriend was asleep on the same bed.

He pleaded not guilty when he appeared before regional magistrate Mrs Dambudzo Malunga facing a charge of aggravated indecent assault.

Mrs Malunga convicted him and sentenced  him to 10 years imprisonment of which three years were suspended on condition of good behaviour.

Liwonde, who was represented by his lawyer Mr Tonderai Mukuku, told the court that he never touched the complainant but was surprised when he woke up to find her hand around his neck during the night as they were sharing the same bed.

"Your worship, I never touched her. I was surprised when the following day I was arrested for f-ndling her breasts, which I never did. In actual fact, during the night I found her arm on top of my neck and I removed it and continued with my sleep," Liwonde claimed.

Prosecuting, Mr Tawanda Sigauke said on 26 October 2014 at around 7.30am, the complainant arrived at Liwonde's house where he resides with his girlfriend. When she got inside she sat on the bed as the couple did not have chairs. After a few minutes, Liwonde's girlfriend left her cellphone with the teenager and lay on the same bed leaving her boyfriend sitting with the teenager.

When he realised that his girlfriend was asleep, he demanded the phone and the teenager refused. He then let go of the issue and started f-ndling her breasts before inserting his finger into her private parts without her consent.

The complainant screamed in horror, waking Liwonde's girlfriend in the process.

She told her friend what Liwonde was doing but he threatened that he would unleash his friends from the army if she told her mother. However, the matter came to light when the teenager's mother noticed a change in her daughter's behaviour. The matter was reported to police leading to Liwonde's arrest.
