1 minute hailstorm wreaks havoc

A hailstorm left a trail of destruction to property and electricity transmission infrastructure in Chinhoyi late this afternoon.

The hailstorm blew off some roofs from various houses in the Coldstream area of Chinhoyi where it left a pharmacy without a single roofing sheet.

The hailstorm also uprooted some trees some of which fell on parked vehicles.

Eyewitnesses said the storm lasted for less than a minute but its effects were intense and terrifying.

It could not be immediately established whether the hailstorm had any human casualties.
