Cash crisis tops Zanu PF Politburo meeting

The Zanu PF Politburo is meeting at the ruling party's headquarters in Harare with the current cash crisis top on the agenda.
The meeting has so far been updated on the measures that the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) is taking to address the liquidity crunch facing the nation.
Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa, who also brief the Politburo on the implementation of the ZIMASSET programme, said to address the cash crisis, the RBZ will seek to promote and encourage the use of plastic money and impose cash limits.
Zanu PF National Political Commissar, Saviour Kasukuwere also presented a report, in which he described as null and void recent changes to party structures in some provinces.
He said the party is stable in all provinces.
The Secretary for Finance, Obert Mpofu is also expected to present a report on resource mobilisation for the implementation of the ZIMASSET economic blueprint.
Foreign Affairs Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, who is the Secretary for External Relations will also brief the Politburo on the party and government activities on the world arena.
The Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs, Kudzai Chipanga will present a report on the One Million Man March held on Africa Day in Harare.
At the start of the meeting, President Robert Mugabe, who recently attend the African-Caribbean and Pacific countries summit in Papua New Guinea, spoke about the need for developing countries to use their natural resources in order to develop and industrialise.
