Thousands of people including Zanu PF Politburo members thronged Kingsdale Farm in Norton district to witness the launch of the revolutionary party campaign programme to drum up support for the party's candidate for Norton by-election, Ronald Chindedza.

Chindedza was introduced to the electorate by the Zanu PF National Political Commissar, Savior Kasukuwere who lambasted the independent candidate, Themba Mliswa as a problem child.

Kasukuwere promised to resolve all land disputes by land barons threatening to evict thousands of families at Kingsdale co-operative, saying no houses will be demolished as UDCORP will handle the matter.

Politburo member, Ednah Madzogwe took a swipe at some war veterans who are supporting Mliswa, saying people of Norton should vote for Chindedza to shame such detractors.

The Norton seat became vacant following the sacking of the former member of the National Assembly, Christopher Mutsvangwa from Zanu PF.
