Mugabe as happy as Chamisa in having Mliswa win Norton seat

An MDC official Discent Collins Bajila has said according to {President Robert Mugabe's remarks concerning the Norton By election lost by his party candidate it appears the 92 year old leader is happy to have the winning independent candidate Temba Mliswa than having his own party candidate Ronarld Chindedza whom he described as a theif.

Mugabe last week condemned the party leadership for choosing a thief to stand as party candidate in the by election which he blamed for the loss to his party.

Mliswa beat Chindedza by wide margin in the polls.

"The chap from Norton has been named a thief by President Mugabe. This is an interesting development because it reveals that the President knows that there are thieves walking freely in our streets and into Zanu-PF rank and file," Bajila said.

"The President is happy that the thief lost election but is not saying anything on what he steals and when he will be arrested. The President would rather have Mliswa in Parliament than the thief. Therefore the President is as happy as Chamisa about the Mliswa victory."
