ZSP applications concerns and warning
18 Dec 2014 at 08:10hrs | Views
It is about 2 weeks before the process of online applications for the renewal of the 2010 DZP permits to ZSP 2014 permits comes to an end on the 31st of December 2014.
After the teething hiccups, the process has flown smoothly although we are now worried about the likely freezing of the bank accounts after the 31st of December 2014 when the DZPs expires.
The Migrant Workers' Association-SA (MWA-SA) is also concerned about the media reports that ONLY over 60% applicants have lodged their applications. We were hoping for more than 90% by now because we don't want anyone to be left out of this renewal process. We encourage all Zimbabweans to spread the word and to assist those who can not use internet or get access to VFS to retrieve their reference numbers especially those who were rejected in 2010 or who applied but did not get their permits. The Department of Home Affairs is helping them so that they can apply. Those with details not found in the system yet they applied, they should urgently seek help from our office. Contact numbers: 0788535353 or 0833485539 or call our office on 0110748022. Physical Address: Office 301, 3rd Floor, Budget House, 130 Main Street, (next to Carlton Centre), Johannesburg CBD.
Warning: Please note there are some who are taking advantage of the work we are doing and are doing their private things in the name of MWA-SA. We have had some volunteers coming to our offices yet conducting private business through their phones, emails and bank accounts. We are still consulting on whether to open a police case because we do not want to remain with queries from clients who decided to deal with private individuals.
We advice people to double check with us during this rush hour. If you are approached by someone on behalf of MWA-SA who requests to deal with you privately and you are suspicious, kindly report that to the National Coordinator of MWA-SA on 0603119086 or 0736211230(whatsapp only). The help that people are receiving is done by organisations that can account tomorrow not individuals who are using private whatsapp contacts, email addresses or bank accounts. We will not take responsibility.
We wish all of you all the best.
