POLICE in Matabeleland South province have launched a manhunt for a man who showed his disapproval of his mother relationship by stabbing her's boyfriend once in the stomach.
Sifiso Ndlovu (27) of Tshongwe village under chief Mathe in Gwanda allegedly stabbed his mother's boy friend Mr Mambazo Mhlophe (31) once in the stomach saying he did not want to see him in their home.
He also told him he was against the relationship between Mhlophe and his mother, Molly Ndlovu (46).
Acting police spokesperson for Matabeleland South, Sergeant Thabani Mkhwananzi confirmed the incident.
He said the incident occurred on 6 March around 7.30 pm.
"The deceased was stabbed at his girl friend's home and died upon admission at Ntalale clinic.
"Miss Ndlovu had gone to collect firewood from her neighbours. On her return she found Mhlophe lying on a mat and she went on to the kitchen to make fire.
"She heard noises from outside and went out to see what was happening," said Sgt Mkhwananzi.
He said Miss Ndlovu found the accused and the now deceased fighting.
"The accused said he did not want to see Mhlophe at their home. He said he was against the relationship between his mother and the deceased," he said.
Sgt Mkhwananzi said Miss Ndlovu realised that the accused had a knife, which he used to stab Mr Mhlophe.
"The accused stabbed the deceased once in the stomach and ran away. His mother then alerted the neighbours about the incident but they failed to get transport to go to the clinic early.
