Debt collector jailed for breaking into headmaster's office

PLUMTREE - A 20‑year‑old debt collector at Makhubu Primary School has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after being convicted of theft by Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware.
The accused, Xolisani Mkize, was found guilty of breaking into the headmaster's office on 8 November and stealing a cash box containing ZAR 5,896 and US$381.
The school's deputy headmaster, Zibusiso Sibanda, filed a police report which led to Mkize's arrest.
Sheila Nyathi prosecuted.
