Hwange woman in trouble for assault

The Hwange Magistrates' Court has convicted and sentenced Chada Shoko (24) to 420 hours of community service for assaulting her neighbour.
The court heard that on 11 January at around 8:30pm, the complainant - who lives next door to the offender - went to Shoko's home to ask why she had refused to accept maize cobs he had offered her the previous day.
A misunderstanding arose, during which Shoko picked up a brick and struck the complainant once on the left side of the forehead.
The complainant sustained a laceration as a result of the assault.
Authorities urged members of the public to refrain from violence and to resolve disputes peacefully.
