Man steals beer, destroys mother's property

A 32‑year‑old Plumtree man has been arrested after allegedly destroying his mother's property before breaking into a bar and stealing beer.

Clifford Monga appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware facing charges of malicious damage to property and unlawful entry.

The State told the court that on 26 February, Monga had a misunderstanding with his 74‑year‑old mother and went on to destroy her fridge, television and teapot.

On 8 March, around midnight, he allegedly broke into a local bar, stole various types of beer and fled.

A police report was filed, leading to his arrest.
