Two arrested over fatal bottle store attack in Ruwa

Police in Ruwa have arrested two suspects in connection with a violent attack that left one man dead and two others seriously injured at Chenai Shops in Solomio Park.
The suspects, identified as Trymore Ndebele (24) and Peace Dube (25), were taken into custody following the incident, which occurred on 29 April 2026 at a local bottle store.
According to police, the pair allegedly launched a brutal assault on patrons using bricks and knives after a dispute broke out at the premises. The attack resulted in the death of Tendai Mubiya (30), while two other victims sustained serious injuries and are receiving medical treatment.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing, and the suspects are expected to appear in court soon facing charges of murder and attempted murder.
The incident has raised fresh concerns over rising cases of violence in social drinking spaces, with calls for improved security and better conflict‑management measures at public establishments.
Police have urged members of the public to resolve disputes peacefully and to report any criminal activity to law enforcement agencies.
