A fierce political battle looms in Tsholotsho North where Water Resources minister Samuel Sipepa Nkomo's wife, Roseline Nkomo, has won the MDC-T ticket to challenge Zanu-PF politburo member Jonathan Moyo in the forthcoming parliamentary elections.
Another clash of the titans is expected in Mines minister Obert Mpofu (Zanu-PF)'s Umguza constituency where former police superintendent Londilo Masuku was elected to represent the MDC-T in party primary elections held on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the MDC-T's primary elections across the country have so far left 15 legislators facing the chop while more are expected to fall by the wayside against the backdrop of discontent over the performance of the sitting MPs.
Some legislators have been labelled fortune seekers bent on lining their pockets while the proverbial Rome is on fire.
