The Zimbabwean Catholic community in Botswana has reportedly brought together eight different churches to the National Youth Centre grounds in Gaborone, to celebrate Christian annual sports Gala through ball sports competitions.
The Voice reported that chairman of the Zimbabwean Catholic Community, Prosper Muonde said that the main aim of the event is to promote spiritual and physical fitness.
He also said that christian life is often described boring, but gathering to participate in the ball sports activities can help make it more interesting and create a platform to unite with other nationalities.
"The motive is to socialize, relax and have fun," says Muonde.
The sports activities played include softball, Volleyball, chess and others.
All age groups were participating, and catered for. Vice Chairperson Maxwell Meke said that it's vital for Christians to get to know one another as they are a family.
"We have plans of organising a bigger event in 2016 not alone concentrating on sports," said Meke.
