Nyokayemabhunu could be my son Nqobizitha

How political systems destroy our children defies common sense. I stopped following Nyokayemabhunu's legal case for many reasons - too daunting, too numbing. Each court briefing feels like induced labour pains. Mothers will understand this agony.
I first encountered Nyokayemabhunu on social media. His reckless talk about a pending revolution concerned me deeply. The man whispering in his ear was Geza, hiding in Polokwane.
I warned this young man repeatedly: he was being used by cowards within ZANU PF - men who want to say what he says but lack the courage. Even ZANU insiders are fed up with Mnangagwa's leadership. Geza likely promised him greatness after a successful revolution. In Africa, proximity to power is a badge of honour.
But Geza's revolution was a dead donkey dressed as prophecy. Jerusalem is not a metaphor - it's a place in Israel. Nyokayemabhunu was fed lies by an octogenarian. He was made to believe VP Chiwenga was secretly backing the revolution. We later learned Chiwenga wasn't involved at all.
Before March 31st, Geza's daily video briefings urged Chiwenga to remove Mnangagwa, claiming Mnangagwa had surrendered power to him. This revelation shattered many who believed Chiwenga was coordinating a coup. For Nyokayemabhunu, it must have been devastating.
Soon after, he was arrested by South African police for overstaying. But overstaying doesn't warrant months in remand prison. I must be excused if I say the South African and Zimbabwean governments are colluding behind our backs. The facts around his incarceration are murky. Too many grey areas. Is he being handed over for slaughter?
Nyokayemabhunu pitched his activism high - and carelessly. But he is not stupid. Like many young people, he trusted Geza blindly. His youthfulness was absolute. When ignorance is bliss, it is folly to be wise. But he is not ignorant. He is brilliant - and he fell into the hands of failed, unscrupulous politicians.
I worried about the terrain in which he spoke. Who told him it was safe to speak against ZANU PF in South Africa? Geza is wholly responsible for his downfall. Yesterday's Bulawayo24 article confirmed his repatriation to Zimbabwe. My heart bleeds.
We know how our government reacts to repatriated activists. As if the death of Itai Dzamara wasn't enough. As if the young men who perished in the 2017 coup weren't enough. We fear how Nyokayemabhunu will be eliminated. We now know Itai was assassinated by CIO operatives at Mnangagwa's command.
Six months later, Geza is still hiding in Polokwane. No signs of relevance. We hear he's ill - multiple health conditions. Like Jonathan Moyo, if Geza returns home, he won't survive. Dr. Walter Mzembi is in prison. He's collapsed several times. Geza will face treason charges - ZANU PF will eliminate him easily.
After Geza's March 31st revolution announcement, 109 activists were arrested - including journalist Blessed Mhlanga. The message was clear: revolution has consequences. We must not fear power when seeking change - but we must be strategic. Leaders must lead from the front, not from Wi-Fi comfort zones in Polokwane.
Planning a revolution using our children is unacceptable. Life is a fragile privilege. Trading it for twilight ambitions is evil. To use Nyokayemabhunu to fight for an 80-year-old man who dreams of cars and security details is satanic. Geza, kurova imbwa wakaviga mupini.
Between the lines of his speeches, Geza sold his soul. He needs money to improve his farms - not to liberate the people. He invaded white-owned farms and a hotel in Manicaland. He failed to run them profitably. He wants Mnangagwa's presidency to access national revenues for personal gain. His revolution is not about the people.
He talks revolution while hiding. Our youth are sacrificed like flies so Geza can emerge victorious. Nyokayemabhunu is the perfect example - languishing in remand prison. He was promised greatness. What a reckless, half-cooked plan. How perfidious to treat a young man like a disposable pawn.
Nyokayemabhunu is an orphan. "Defeat" is an orphan. A warning to young people: never follow the wind just because it's blowing. Ask why, ask where. Understand the vector before you join the movement. Advice too late for Nyokayemabhunu - but a lesson for millions.
My heart bleeds at the thought of his extradition. I wonder what powers I must summon to open prison doors. A son, in age and spirit, is not safe. I forsook God long ago. Now, where do I turn? Is it a saviour complex to cry louder?
Which heavenly stars must I contact to free him? None. The sun, moon, and stars are abiotic. They don't care how much I cry. What method of killing will they use? Itai Dzamara was murdered brutally. So was Dr. Edgar Madekurozva. My greatest fear.
