Take Sikhala at own risk

I was very happy when I learnt that Morgan Tsvangirai and some senior members of his party are very sceptical about Job Sikhala. They are spot on. I am told Tsvagirai has actually instructed Chamisa to monitor Sikhala and it also reached my ears that the over ambitious Sikhala is already eyeing the MDC-T National Organising Secretary post. He is reportedly staking a claim to that post since he believes that he is a principal who also brought supporters to the amalgamation.
As a regular standing member of his former party, I would like to dismiss Sikhala's lies that he joined the MDC-T along with the MDC-99 family. Sikhala joined as an individual and he never consulted us as his senior party members. The MDC-99 is still in existence and it has no link whatsoever with MDC-T and of late with this political nomad.
When he hinted to us of a union with the MDC-T, our advice was that Tsvangirai must make peace with some of the senior members of his party first before extending that reconciliatory hand to us. We bluntly challenged Sikhala to explain and prove to us if the differences that initially caused our separation with Tsvangirai had been bridged. We later learnt that the reunion was driven by financial motive. It's true that Sikhala demanded $30 000 from the MDC renewal team for him not to join Tsvangirai. He emotionally joined Tsvangirai after the renewal team refused to entertain his demands. It never was a union of principles.
Sikhala received lots of funding from the CIO and l would like to believe that its part of the project for him to rejoin the MDC-T. Thus, the scepticism that some MDC-T senior members have is justified. Apart from receiving funding from the dreaded CIO, Sikhala would frequently get some money from a certain Zanu PF minister.
It is a matter of time before you see the true colours of the man that MDC-T is embracing with both hands. Wish you the best Mr Sikhala. As MDC-99 orphans, we will move on. We will continue with the struggle to bring about democracy in this country and it's my hope that this endeavour will be smooth without you and your secret handlers.
