'Iqhud'elikhulu Ngubani Iqhud'elikhulu' - The Replay

Let me start by saying this: THE INTERNAL CONFLICT AND LEADERSHIP DISPUTES IN MDCT ARE NONE OF MY BUSINESS

What is however part of my business is either faction's real and alleged attempt to recall Members of Parliament belonging to the other faction. I find the arguments to be bordering on machoism and egocentrism.

First and foremost it is a well established fact that the major thrust of MDCT is the removal of Mugabe and the presumption that after Mugabe is removed ALL THINGS SHALL BE FINE. On the basis of this well established fact one would have assumed that it will be considered taboo to make a decision that gives Mugabe even a micro ounce of political power. One would have thought that either group will be arguing that ALL SEATS IN PARLIAMENT ARE FINE SO LONG THEY ARE NOT HELD BY ZANU PF.

Alas we have the Conservatives in MDCT meeting in October 2014 and resolving that they will not involve themselves in by-elections or general elections until a plethora of conditions are met. A few months later they make decisions tantamount to creating by-elections and insist they will not contest those by elections.

Isn't this the behaviour of a snake that can use its vernom to poison and kill a huge bull that it won't even eat?

Again, to use UMDC as an argument is a childish excuse. In terms of the UNIFICATION AGREEMENT establishing UMDC it is clear that the UMDC is not a political party but a political platform using which participants hope to reunite the MDC under its founding principles, rebrand and rename it before uniting with other opposition movements towards the next election. One would have thought that this reunification of opposition forces is a long standing call from MDCT and should thus be embraced by them.

But well, MDCT squabbles are none of my business.

My main worry is that this whole fight falls into the ZANU PF succession politics and works in favour of the dangerous Zvipfukuto which MDCT always denounces, ironically. The Zvipfukuto group wants full control of Parliament. They want to amend the constitution and use it to declare Mugabe life President, 21 February a Public Holiday and reduce the size of Parliament in a manner that will collapse constituencies currently held by Gamatox MPs. They also want to reduce the number of Constitutional Commissions with the Human Rights Commission, National Peace and Reconciliation Commission and Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission being prime targets for abolition.

While ZANU PF already has a majority in both Houses, there is a lot of internal mistrust and should there be by-elections created by MDCT squabbles they will be delighted to field loyal Zvipfukuto and finish their game plan.

The DICE has been cast for all to see. The choice is yours. Help Mugabe solve his succession game or not.

Izenzo kungemazwi!!!!!!!
