4 life changing motivational lessons I learnt from Cristiano Ronaldo

Number 1: Play For Andorinha!

Did you know that Cristiano Ronaldo (one of the world's best football players of our generation), played for a small team called Andorinha? Well, now you know. Although he currently plays for one of the world's richest and greatest football clubs called Real Madrid, his talent was recognized and nurtured from a tender age of 8 years, playing for an unknown despised team called Andorinha.

He excelled in that unknown team and got noticed by other bigger teams like Nacional, then Sporting, Manchester United and Real Madrid. Friends, so many times we dream too big (which is very good) but refuse opportunities to begin small (which is bad). Zechariah 4:10, "Do not despise the day of SMALL BEGINNINGS". You can't be recognized by and promoted to big teams without proving yourself competent at Andorinha (small and despised tasks). Many times we fail to realize that playing for the despised little Andorinha is not a disgrace, but a ladder to your greatness.

Number 2: Leave Manchester Untied!

Leaving Manchester United to play for Real Madrid was one of the risky steps which Cristiano ever made. Manchester had made him a world's footballer of the year, it had made him prominent, he had won the league trophy with the team….but here he was, leaving this great team. But why?

He wanted to stretch his potential. He wanted new challenges which would stretch him. He wanted to throw himself in the deep end and see what else he can do. Don't be too comfortable in that place, don't relax because of those past achievements, don't be satisfied with former glory, don't lean too much on old testimonies…..go to Real Madrid! Seek for other opportunities which will challenge and stretch you. See what else you can do. "Take (calculated) risks, get brilliant at being uncomfortable", says Robin Sharma.

Number 3: Shoot A Ferocious Free Kick!

Cristiano Ronaldo has some amazing trademarks ferocious free kicks. Many goal-keepers fear being between the goal posts whenever he is taking free kicks. He shoots them with so much power, a ridiculous might and venom. Put your best effort behind every free kick, put all your might in every opportunity. Give it your all. "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might…." Ecclesiastes9:10.

Number 4: Be A Step-Over Specilist!

Cristiano has a unique style of play in which he often uses his 'step-overs' to deceive defenders into thinking that he is going to the right when he is going to the left or vice-versa. This is one of his trademark moves. This is one of the things he excels in. This is one of the things which make him different from other players. What is your step-over? Have you discovered your 'step-over' skill yet? Have you discovered what makes you different and sets you apart from the crowd? What unique skill sets you apart from everyone else at your workplace or business? Never fear to be different. Be like the man who boldly declared, "They laugh at me because I am different, I laugh at them because they are all the same." When you discover and build on what makes you different, you eliminate all your competitors!
