Welshman Ncube letter to Priscilla attackers

These are trying times for us as leadership of the party at different levels and for the entire membership of the party.
It is a time for serious and deep SILENT reflection. There is a time to talk and a time to listen. A time to listen to others talk and a time for all of us to listen to our consciences. A time to question ourselves and think deeply about who we are and our values and principles. A time to feel the intense pain we must all be going through during this difficult period. A time to ask ourselves difficult questions on how we got here. Certainly there are no easy answers or easy solutions.
This is not a time for witch hunting, certainly not a time for gloating and finger pointing. As Africans we must dig dip into our traditional values of empathy, of love and kindness, of solidarity, ultimately of Ubuntu.
Our politics must be palpably different from that of those we have individually and collectively suffered so much opposing. Each day and each week we must commit and recommit ourselves to our values! These do not come naturally. We must work on our minds and hearts all the time to remain faithful to who we are and and what we stand for. We should never celebrate the pain and anguish of comrades. We must never allow our hearts to be filled by hate and loathing. If we do our struggle is reduced to nothing more that the pursuit of power for its sake.
I am appealing to all the leaders of this great party to silently reflect on these issues. To be who we say we are at ALL times. To refrain and desist from saying and doing things which are at variance with who we are. To be faithful to our values and principles. The party is in serious deep deep pain, indeed agony.
Let us use this very very difficult period to be a shining example of the best of our humanity. Let us be very very slow to judge and even slower to condemn. Let us not curse the darkness but be the ones to light that candle even in the midst of the wind.
In this regard let us stop all direct, indirect and oblique debates on the resignation of the Secretary General be it about the reasons and circumstances of it or the leadership consequences thereof. Let us find peace by SILENTLY reconnecting with our consciences and our humanity. If we are truly the leadership that is able to lead our beloved country to prosperity then this should not be too difficult for us to do.
