The Zimbabwe cricket side has lost to Afghanistan by 35 runs in a test match that ended at the Country Club in Harare this Wednesday morning.
Zimbabwe A's batting line-up crumbled in spectacular fashion to hand the tourists a 35 run victory.
Resuming play on 208 for 6, Zimbabwe A's tail-enders never settled in the match as Afghanistan's Yamin Ahmadzai dismissed John Nyumbu for just a single run in the second over of the day to leave the hosts staring defeat on 209 for 7.
Zimbabwe's ship was further rocked when Tendai Chatara and Michael Chinouya were dismissed in the same over as the tourists smelt victory.
Chatara departed for 4, while Chinouya went for a golden duck as Mirwais Ashraf tore into Zimbabwe A's tail-enders, leaving them struggling at 216 for 9.
Needing 49 runs to win with just one wicket in hand, it proved to be a tall order for Zimbabwe as the only recognisable batsman was Luke Jongwe.
Jongwe finally fell in the 76th over after posting 18 runs off the bowling of Ahmadzai as Afghanistan clinched the test match by 35 runs.
Zimbabwe A's only positive in the test match was the return to form of batsman, Mark Vermeulen, whose 107 proved to be in vain as his efforts were not complimented by his fellow batsmen.
