KNOWLEDGE Musona scored right at the death as Zimbabwe beat 10-man Mali 2-1 at Rufaro to claim their first win in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Musona gave Zimbabwe the lead just before halftime, finding the net from an acute angle but Mali levelled soon after half time through El Hadji Mohamane Traore.

The match appeared set to end in a draw until the last minute of normal time when the hosts were awarded a penalty.

Kaizer Chiefs striker Musona took responsibility. His first shot was saved but the referee ordered a retake after ruling that Soumaila had moved from his line.

In the final minute of normal time Knowledge Musona scores from the penalty spot - but he had two bites at the cherry to convert the spot kick.

Mali finished the game with 10 men after a straight red card for one of their players following a mass brawl that saw Zimbabwe keeper Tapiwa Kapini knocked to the ground. The win means Zimbabwe are still in the running in this group.
