According to Sunday Sun, Muvhango actors have not been paid this month and they are now actors are apparently planning to down tools if they are not paid this week.
A leading Muvhango actor, who spoke to the SunTeam, said: "We are very p****d off because we think they're treating us like dirt.
"If we don't get paid, something must happen. It's the end of the month, we don't have money and our debit orders are bouncing back.
"We're going to shoot our scenes but we are not happy bunnies!" said the actor.
Another crew member in the camera division said that some actors are not even focused.
"These people are no longer motivated as they believe that the producers are taking them for a ride.
"They are not even co-operative when they are on set. Things are going to go back to the days when they used to complain about non-payment.
"The SABC is in trouble because once Muvhango stars drop their scripts, s**t will hit the fan.
"The SABC should speak to these producers to take care of its actors because their presence on TV brings money to the broadcaster.
"Hlaudi Motsoeneng must intervene on this one before it's too late," said the crew member.
Muvhango publicist Kgalema Mametse referred all enquiries to the SABC.
SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago acknowledged the problem. He said: "We were not aware that they have not been paid. Once we were made aware, we intervened.
"We are concerned about the plight of actors. We are going to make a special payment to Word of Mouth early next week while we are investigating the cause of the delay.
"If we find that one of us is at fault, there will be consequences," said the SABC spokesman.
