The Migrant Workers Union of South Africa (MIWUSA) has challenged the migrants in South Africa to make more efforts to acquire permits following the extension of the period by the South African government for those applying for permits.

Zimbabwe Special Permits (Special notice) indicated that according to govt of SA the ZSP project was suppose to end today 31 July 2015, implying that by today everyone should have received his or her outcome.

"Those with queries should have been attended to as well," said ZSP.

"We understand the govt later reviewed their projection on the matter and indicated end of August is the most likely time to finalize this project."

Added the organisation, "Interesting and disturbing DHA issued a circular or letter to inform govt departments, companies etc that the project will end 31st of July 2015. In simply terms, all those yet to get their permits outcome might be in trouble with their employers."

The organisation said most of those with permits rejected were expecting formal deliberation on their fate by today, I guess anxious is heavily gripping them now.

"I guess everyone will concur with me that this is not joke, people are losing their jobs, children taken out of schools, people are being arrested due to lack of these documents. Judging by inquiries always being inundated with from the affected applicants , its clear that Migrants have invested all their hope on us," said the ZSP.

It said  the union was happy to announce that tomorrow 01/08/2015 MIWUSA will hold a general meeting for its members to discuss and adopt resolution on the matter going forward.

"Formal statement will be released thereafter on the matter. The meeting is open to all our members and those willing to join us," said ZSP. "The meeting will be held at our head office boardroom in JHG."
