Simon Segola has said the last time he got good sleep was in October 2006 before his 14-year-old daughter was held hostage and raped for two weeks.
Daily Sun reported that the 56-year-old father of five from Kagisanong kasi in Mangaung told Daily Sun his daughter died soon after the suspect's arrest, leading to his release.
And now Simon is being haunted by the spirit of his daughter, Masetshaba. Every night in his dreams, she asks him why he has abandoned her!
Simon said his horror started 10 years ago when he and his father, Solomon, realised Masetshaba was missing.
She eventually turned up at Solomon's house and told them she had been kept hostage by men in Namibia kasi, who used her as a sex slave for two weeks!
"When she died, the doctors said it was because of blunt trauma to her privates," said the devastated father. "She now comes to my dreams every night asking why I have not clothed her."
He said Masetshaba was denied food and water during her two-week rape ordeal.
"The suspect was arrested in the shack where my daughter was kept but he was released after her death," said Simon.
Sangoma Mamoya Rakauoane said Simon's dream meant he needed to slaughter a cow for his daughter.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesman Phaladi Shuping said a case could be closed if there was a lack of evidence.
"The state has to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt," he said.
