Anthony Joshua in stable condition after SUV smashes into parked truck

British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua was injured on 28 December 2025 when the Lexus SUV he was travelling in collided with a stationary truck on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, authorities in Nigeria have confirmed. Emergency responders and members of Joshua’s security team pulled him and the driver from the wreckage. Officials said Joshua sustained minor injuries and underwent several clinical assessments but did not require emergency intervention A E. Two other occupants of the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene, while another man was injured.

Authorities said preliminary findings suggest the SUV may have been travelling above the legal speed limit before the driver lost control C D. Investigations into the exact cause of the crash are ongoing.

Joshua had been in Nigeria following his recent victory in the ring and was visiting family and attending private engagements. Footage shared online showed the boxer dazed and shirtless as he was helped from the wrecked vehicle, surrounded by shattered glass.
