A section of South Africans are planning a demonstration next month ( 24 February) against the influx of foreign nationals who they accuse of taking their jobs.
Flyers seen by Bulawayo24.com indicate that South Africans are fed up with their government granting asylum seekers status.
The singled out Zimbabweans,Nigerians and Pakistanis as major problems saying there was no war in these countries.
"Why is the government giving asylum seeker(s) status to Nigerians, Zimbabweans, Pakistanis.
"Is there war in Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Pakistan etc?" reads part of the flyer that might stoke up xenophobic attacks.
It said unemployment levels are at massive 34% in South Africa "but they give people asylum seeker(s) status when there is no work in South Africa.
"What do you expect them to do? They will commit crimes, got to Spar, Cash crusades, Nandos, restaurants and other companies etc.
"It is only Zimbabweans and other foreign nationals working there. Where must South Africans work?".
It said the Chinese are working in their countries but "Africans from other countries come here to take from another poor person. Where must South Africans work?".
According to the flyer, Zimbabweans and other nationals bring "nothing but destruction, hijack our buildings, sell drugs, inject young South African ladies with drugs and sell them as prostitutes".
This comes a day after South African Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba said he needs time to apply his mind without being put under pressure on the Zimbabwe special permits.
The Zimbabwe Special Permit (ZSP) expire at the end of December.
An estimated three million Zimbabweans are said to be in South Africa, most of them illegally.
In 2012, Pretoria issued ZSPs to allow thousands of Zimbabweans illegally working in Africa's most industrialised economy to regularise their stay there.
