Granny hides under bed from axe wielding boyfriend

A WOMAN from Vulindlela Flats in Makokoba, Bulawayo, reportedly hid under the bed to avoid an axe attack from her alleged violent boyfriend following a booze-fuelled domestic dispute.

Jannie Ndlovu (54) survived the chop from her boyfriend Danisa Sibanda (56) after she sought refuge under the bed during the heat of the domestic quarrel and reportedly sustained a swollen face and head.

It is alleged that before Sibanda attempted to axe his lover, he assaulted her with fists and booted feet all over the body before "smashing" her head against the wall.

The violent Sibanda is also alleged to have bitten his lover on her right eye.

Circumstances are that on 20 August at around 11 pm the two lovebirds were drinking beer at Ndlovu's place of residence when they had an argument.

The misunderstanding ensued after Ndlovu reportedly refused to pay for the chickens they had bought from their neighbour on credit.

It is reported that when Ndlovu insisted that her boyfriend should pay for the chickens he flew into a rage, forcibly grabbing her head and hitting it against the wall.

He went on to assault her with fists and booted feet all over the body.
