Rapist vows to restore v*rginity

A member of an apostolic church in Bulawayo who allegedly robbed a 16-yearold fellow congregant's v*rginity used one of the most ridiculous ways to buy the girl's silence when he claimed that he was going to take her to hospital where she can undergo a surgery to restore her v*rginity.
Nqobizitha Mpofu from Matsheumhlope suburb and a member of the 12th Apostolic Church after committing the offence reportedly pleaded for leniency from his church members and the victim (name withheld) whom he was staying with at the same house but in separate rooms.
Allegations against Mpofu are that on 1 September at around midnight he hatched a plan to "rob" his fellow teenage tenant's v*rginity when he tiptoed from his bedroom into her room where she was reportedly sleeping alone.
It is reported that after entering the victim's room he went on to sneak into her blankets and forcibly grabbed her by her neck while threatening her with unspecified action.
After he forcibly bought the girl's silence through his threats, Mpofu reportedly forced himself on her once without protection.
After the gruesome act, the helpless girl screamed for help before Mpofu begged him to keep quiet while claiming that he was going to take her to the hospital where she can undergo a surgery to have her v*rginity restored.
However, Mpofu's evil acts were exposed after other tenants who had been attracted by the girl's screams came to her room where they later found Mpofu pleading with the complainant not to report the matter to anyone.
The girl however, narrated her ordeal to other tenants who reported it to the police leading to Mpofu's arrest.
For the offence he was brought before the court to answer charges of rape.
Mpofu who appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Sibongile Msipa was not asked to plead when he was remanded in custody to 23 September.
